Poker Chip Box from Matthew Watkins

Posted by Brusso Hardware LLC on Sep 7th 2018

Customer Matthew Watkins made this poker chip box using Brusso's HD-638 quadrant hinges and JB-818 box latch. Here's what he had to say about this commissioned piece:

"I was commissioned to produce a high end poker chip box as a gift and was given free reign to work some magic with the box by the client. Through one of my fantastic suppliers I was able to source some gorgeous cherry slabs that had great crotch figuring. After cutting these pieces into veneers and laminating the exterior and interior faces together things were ready for assembly. The box is roughly 8' deep by 15" long and 4" tall.
Every bit of Cherry was sourced from the original slab and is held together with hand cut dovetails. The interior chip trays and card box are removable to fit the
players personal play style. The corner brasses were sourced directly from a foundry and then customized in house to match exactly what I was looking for. The latches and quadrant hinges truly made this a functioning piece, keeping everything together and secure.
I can't express how pleased I am with the fit and finish of the Brusso pieces. They were the only thing that I didn't have to fiddle with during the entire process. The precision and fit of each piece
was exactly why I opted to use them in the first place."
